1. Who is responsible

Kodomo is an independent application: it is developed and published by one person, with no company behind it. For any question about this policy the contact address is reis.is.dev@gmail.com, and answers come from there.

Worth stating plainly: because the app never sends us any data, in practice we do not process personal information about you. The data you enter is processed by you, on your own device.

2. What data exists, and where

Inside the app you can store, if you want to: your children's names and dates of birth, records of feeds, nappies and sleep, weight, height and head measurements, free-text notes you write, and your preferences (language, volume, noise threshold).

All of that is stored only in your device's private storage, in a database that only the app itself can reach. It is not transmitted to any server of ours, because no server of ours exists.

3. What we do not do

• No accounts, sign-up or log-in.
• No analytics, usage statistics or behavioural tracking.
• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No crash reports sent to anyone.
• We do not sell, transfer or share data with third parties.
• We do not read your contacts, location, photos or calendar.

4. The permissions the app asks for, and why

Microphone

Used only by the noise meter, and only while that screen is open and measuring. What is read is the sound level, not its content. Android requires a recording file in order to measure at all: that file is temporary, it is never listened to or analysed, and it is deleted the moment you stop. No audio is stored or sent anywhere.

Vibration

For the timer alarm and the noise meter warning.

Files

Only when you ask: when exporting (CSV or a backup) you choose the folder to write to, and when importing you choose the file to read. The app does not scan your storage and does not touch anything you have not pointed it at.

5. The three times data can leave your phone

And all three happen because you decide so:

1. CSV export. Creates a file with your records or measurements and saves it where you say. From then on the file is yours and goes wherever you take it.
2. Backup. A file with everything, to move to a new phone or to hand to the other person who looks after your child. If you send it by email or a messaging app, that data passes through whichever service you use, under its own terms.
3. Android's automatic backup. This one deserves attention because the app does not control it: by default Android includes app data in your Google account's backup, so that it can be restored when you set up a new phone. That means Kodomo's database may end up encrypted in your own Google Drive. It is not something we receive or can look at, and you can turn it off in your phone's backup settings.

6. The voice in the games

The learning games say the prompt out loud using the system's own speech engine (whichever one is installed on your Android). The app hands it a very short piece of text — a number, a colour, a letter — and that engine is system or manufacturer software with its own terms; some may process the text on their servers. Kodomo does not send that text anywhere on its own.

7. Children's data

Kodomo is intended for adults who care for a child. Information about the child is entered by that adult, stays on their device and is not transmitted to anyone. We do not ask for or receive children's data, because we do not receive anyone's data.

8. Links that leave the app

There is one place where the app can open your browser: the link to these terms and this policy, in the first-run notice. The app sends nothing when you open it — it only asks the phone to open an address — but from that point on you are in the browser, under its own rules.

9. How long it is kept, and how to delete everything

Data stays on your device for as long as you want. You can delete a single record, a whole child (with everything belonging to them), all of the data at once from Settings, or uninstall the app, which takes the database with it. If you had Android's automatic backup enabled, remember to check that too in your Google account settings.

You do not need to ask us anything to exercise rights of access, rectification or erasure: the data is in your hands, not ours. If you would still like to write to us, the address is above.

10. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes any of the above, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Changes affecting what leaves the device will also be announced inside the app.
